A Satisfying Meal

If a meal could instantly materialize, that would be great. I’m hungry, but I expect that anything capable of delivering true culinary satisfaction would take much too long to make. I envision a nice bowl of farfalle pasta, accented with butter and ground beef– a simple meal, but one I deem comfortable.

I’ve brought my Brita filter pitcher to my room for the coldest instant hydration. I hoped it would be enough to hide my hunger, but alas, its only talent is curing my thirst.

With every letter I type, every food-related word I write, I grow hungrier and HUNGRIER. If the end of this paragraph ends with an ellipsis or completely suddenly, you’ll find me in my kitchen, weighing my options. The decision will rest on ease and time. I’ll be punished for having valued these qualities because I won’t truly be satisfied with any meal that can be constructed easily or quickly.

I need bread. I used the last four slices of my Whole Foods Italian for breakfast this morning. The ones at the end/beginning of the loaf are best used for snacking when I’m waiting for things to heat up, water to boil.  This morning I used them for dipping into Philadelphia salmon cream cheese while the other two slices toasted in the oven. At 250°.

My meal awaits. I promise not to let ease or time dictate my choice– because I’d like to be truly satisfied by its contents.
